St. Mary’s School finds its spiritual anchor in St. Mary, the revered Mother of God and the foremost among all saints. The Orthodox Syrian Church Society, Regd. Chandigarh, established this school in her name, acknowledging the profound impact of her life and wisdom on Christianity and its global influence. May we seek her guidance as we strive to educate ourselves and uphold the noble virtues of life.

The Chandigarh Orthodox Church is an integral part of the worldwide Christendom, tracing its roots to the Apostles of Jesus Christ. St. Thomas, one of the Apostles, arrived in India in A.D. 52, preaching the gospel of Christianity and laying the foundation for the Christian Church in India. Our Orthodox Church stands as a testament to its indigenous origin, with its headquarters situated in Kottayam, Kerala. His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Didymos I serves as the Supreme Head, holding both spiritual and temporal authorities.

The school’s primary section commenced on August 15, 1989, within the church premises, under the able guidance of H.G. Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorios, the school’s founder. Subsequently, a new school building equipped with modern learning facilities became operational in 2004.

Affiliated with CBSE New Delhi, our co-educational school opens its doors to students of all backgrounds, irrespective of religion, caste, or creed. Beyond academic achievements, the school endeavors to instill in the rising generation a spirit of cooperation, love for humanity, and respect for human values. This noble mission defines the school’s existence, encouraging students to share knowledge without distinctions and become valuable contributors to society.
